Over the last several days I have received a number of messages that have contained the Klez.E worm as an attachment. One of these purports itself to be a program that will give your computer immunity against the Klez.E worm.
The text of the e-mail is as follows:
"Klez.E is the most common world-wide spreading worm. It's very dangerous by corrupting your files.Let's think about this for a minute. If you have antivirus software that is going to detect the Klez worm when you run this program, that means it will also detect the Klez worm when and if you actually receive the worm. If that is the case, why do you need an immunity program at all?
The answer is that you don't. This e-mail doesn't contain an immunity program, it contains the Klez worm. That is why your antivirus software detects it. If it doesn't, you need to update your antivirus software right away.
The bottom line is that you should beware strangers offering you gifts. Those gifts could be a Trojan horse.
Don't to try install this "immunity."
