Having problems renaming your PC? Is your network browsing very slowly, or does your network login just seem to take forever? One of the reasons for these types of issues that I have run across is mapped drives, mainly in two areas:

    1. Too many mapped network drives
    2. Mapped network drives to shares that are no longer available

These two scenarios can cause a wide variety of network-related issues with windows. So if you are having an network issue that is not explainable, try deleting all of your mapped drives. It usually takes very little to recreate them and may save you a ton of time in troubleshooting.
